Overview:
The intent is to focus on the segment of sailing where we have expertise and the proper equipment to serve a large number of sailors. This first summer will be a one week program for high school teams that don’t have the resources and coaching support that Christchurch has.
  • Register as a team or as single boat or coach
  • We will focus on high school/college style fleet and team racing
  • We will sail two sessions a day, 9:30-11:30 and 1-4
  • Evenings will be a classroom session with breakout groups
    • Video review
    • Strategy discussion
    • Team race playbook
    • Goal setting
    • Sports psychology in sailing
    • Practice planning for coaches
For the sailors:
  • Intermediate to advanced boat handling
  • Boat speed in both Fjs and 420s
  • Short course strategy and tactics
  • Starting
  • Teamwork and communication
For the coaches:
  • Practice planning
  • Drills with purpose
  • Technology of coaching
  • Sailor evaluation and developing the performance path
  • Communication and reading your athlete
    Coaches will leave with outlines for all drills from the week
