"Three things make this my ideal workplace. First, a spectacularly dedicated team of teachers who know their kids inside and out. Second, a place based curriculum that gets students and the curriculum out of the classroom and into the world. Third, a visionary and global ideal of education that shows students how their world and their subject matter intersect.”

Chris Little, 15 years

"Christchurch School is a vibrant, challenging, and nurturing place to grow and learn: not just for our students, but for our faculty children, and even ourselves. Raising a family in the magical river realm, and growing up myself in many ways professionally and personally, the Seahorse Life has been a wonderful adventure for our whole family.”

Kristin Kiland, 15 years

“Christchurch is the type of place where you will work with a faculty that is small enough that you are heard and large enough to turn ideas into real programming.”

Joel Jorgensen, two years
WORKING AT CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL

Working at Christchurch School means joining a co-ed day and boarding school committed to guiding over 200 college-bound high school students. We do this at a school with a proud 100-year tradition but also one committed to implementing a forward-focused educational experience. To teach at Christchurch School is to embrace the fullness of helping our students grow into young adults: we teach, we coach, we advise, we provide structure, we celebrate, we console. We are looking for professionals to join our team who share in the belief that when we say “we are educators” we mean more than just what happens in the classroom; we know our students need caring and dedicated adults committed to their development in all areas of their life. We value cultivating curiosity as the necessary foundation for academic excellence. We value instilling character as the bedrock of helping our students have courage of conviction. We value fostering community as necessary to becoming engaged global citizens. We look forward to hearing from you about becoming a colleague in this endeavor.

Please see the position description for more information about how to submit your application. For teaching positions, we will respond within two weeks if we are interested in moving to the next stage of the interview process. Following that, next steps would include an initial phone call, a video call with a small handful of other colleagues, and then an in-person interview on campus. We look forward to hearing from you.

Studies have shown that women, people of color, and those just beginning in education are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background or who is excited about gaining the experience described in the listing. We believe deeply in a boarding school model of education and are interested in people who find the idea of teaching young people in all capacities of their lives compelling. We would encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of our qualifications as described.
