In baseball, a five-tool player is said to have all the skills needed to succeed on the field. Off the diamond, however, teenagers need more than five skills to be considered well-rounded, well-educated individuals. At Christchurch School, students will find an environment in which they can thrive academically as well as athletically. We are a private, college-prep boarding school with an established baseball program that has a proven track record of success.
Balancing Academics and Athletics
One of the reasons we are the best boarding school for students who love baseball is because we believe sports are integral to the learning process. More than just an extracurricular activity or avenue for an athletic scholarship, we believe baseball is another way for young people to learn positive lessons they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. Values such as hard work, perseverance, respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork are all ideals that will stick with students long after they leave the field.
Our coaches are faculty members who live on campus and serve as dorm parents. This means they get to know the students as individuals, not just baseball players. This helps foster a strong sense of community throughout the program and beyond, helping our players take what they learn to heart.
We also encourage physical fitness, knowing how crucial it is to develop healthier, happier, and more successful students. This is why we provide comprehensive strength training as well as an endurance running program. Our belief is that proper health and the confidence that comes with it are two of the most important elements for a successful future. We’re committed to helping the young people we educate live up to their fullest potential in every aspect of their lives.
