A successful applicant to Christchurch School should have good teacher recommendations, and the academic transcript should indicate that he/she is capable of working and thinking on or above grade level. We are very interested in applicants applying to boarding school who demonstrate a desire to attend Christchurch and who wish to involve themselves in extracurricular pursuits and work hard on their studies. Christchurch is a wonderful option for students looking to enter college as mature and prepared young adults.

TAKE THE SSAT (optional )
The SSAT is optional for students applying to Christchurch School.  If you would like the SSAT to be considered as part of your application, please register online for the Secondary School Admission Test at www.ssat.org.  Be sure to request that your scores be sent directly to Christchurch (SSAT Code #2422) when you register to take the test. Refer to SSAT for national testing dates.  All testing requires pre-registration through SSAT. If you are unable to schedule yourself for the SSAT, or if you have questions, contact the Admission Office. Find the SSAT Registration Deadline Calendar here. Find the SSAT Registration Deadline Calendar here.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND TRANSCRIPTS
Download supplemental recommendation forms and transcript/testing request forms here. Distribute Teacher Recommendation forms and Transcript/Testing Request form to the candidate’s current school. Be sure that the correct second page of the recommendation is attached to the corresponding recommendation form. These confidential recommendations and transcripts should be returned directly to the Admission Office at Christchurch School.

LEARNING SKILLS PROGRAM (LSP) APPLICANTS
Christchurch School offers one of the nation’s best learning support programs for students diagnosed with mild learning differences or who may need regular support in a specific academic area. If interested, please submit your child’s most recent psychological-educational testing evaluation with the application.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
All students whose primary language is not English and who may need English as a second language support are required to take the TOEFL (Code #1634) in addition to the SSAT (Code #2422). Applicants with a TOEFL score of 85 or above will be in the most competitive position to gain acceptance for enrollment at Christchurch. We also accept the ITEP and IELTS score report. Please request that your scores be sent directly to Christchurch School as part of the private school admissions process.

FINANCIAL AID
Moving forward, Christchurch will be using Clarity for financial aid applications. The program is more user-friendly for families and the school. However, the program will not be in place until later this fall.  Please check back periodically for information about how to apply through Clarity. We hope to be up and running by mid-November at the latest.
