ORANGE... BLUE... BBQ...
Monday, February 14 was Blue/Orange Day. No classes, just fun. In a tradition dating back more than two decades, the B/O competition follows family lines - if your dad was Blue, you're Blue ... if your older brother was Orange, you're Orange. Anything goes: tug o' war, canoe races, Simon Sez, egg toss, and in a popular new twist, Multimedia CCS Jeopardy. Who won the February Blue/Orange round? The Orange Team!

No sooner had the groundhog seen his shadow than we were off on the 2nd Annual Great Virginia BBQ Tour. More than 20 kids went this year, along with Mr. Smiley, Mr. Atkinson, and Mr. Good. The hungry group criss-crossed the state, visiting restaurants, greasy spoons and diners, sampling as much BBQ as they could in 36 hours.

And for the Dreamers...
In past years, the Fine Arts Department winter production has taken us to the urban streets of GODSPELL, to the balmy islands of SOUTH PACIFIC, and in the final weekend of February, on adventures with a dreamer named Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA. Tickets to the show sold out all four nights - that's 1000 seats! Seniors and CCS Lifers Clay Dingledine and Caroline Selby were inspiring in the lead roles of Don Quixote and Dulcinea, and junior Harrison Willis stole the show with his spunky portrayal of the manservant. More than 40 students were involved in the production, as either cast or crew. The student/faculty orchestra, conducted by Mr. Henry Selby, was brilliant and managed to ground the production as well as take it to soaring heights. Mrs. Merridee Michelsen produced and directed the show.
